Air Zimbabwe in Crises – Pilots remain on Strike

Posted under News & Events

Air Zimbabwe flights cancellations are likely to continue in the coming week. However there is a lot of pressure exerted on the management from both the Zimbabwean Government as well as the pilots that are on strike, as negotiations are not bearing any fruit.

The Zimbabwe Government is urging the national carrier to find a solution and put an end to the matter that is costing the airline billions of dollars each passing week. Also, the airline is only weeks away from its cream season when flights to HarareĀ from London (the capital of Zimbabwe) for Easter Holiday will be selling at the price of gold. It is the only opportunity for the carrier to cash into improved revenue in order to help drag itself out of the challenges it is facing at the moment.

In this week, most international schedule operated by Air Zimbabwe remained cancelled, including flights to Bulawayo, Johannesburg and Victoria falls and refunds are being applied for cancelled tickets. While the regional route between Harare and Johannesburg resumed temporarily.

The passengers booked on the cancelled Air Zimbabwe flights are been given options to either get an alternate ticket or to claim a full refund for their cancelled reservations. This for sure, means another steep road ahead for Air Zimbabwe. For more information or report cancelled flight tickets contact the carrier directly or dial to your travel agent.
